DESCRIPTION:The Sexual Health and Blood-borne Virus Program (SHBBVP) is coordinating a series of videoconferences designed to provide current information and updates related to the outbreaks of infectious syphilis in Western Australia. \nDate: Wednesday July 5th 2023\nTime: 12:00-12:30PM\nVenue: This presentation will be delivered via Microsoft Teams. Please see link below. \nPresenters:\n• Dr Ben Scalley\, Head of Department Public Health\, Metropolitan Communicable Disease Control (MCDC)\n• Joanne O’Dea\, Project Officer\, MCDC \nAbout this videoconference:\nJoanne O’Dea and Dr Ben Scalley will be presenting on MCDC’s outreach testing program in vulnerable populations in metropolitan Perth. With the aim to increase syphilis testing amongst the people experiencing homelessness community\, MCDC piloted an outreach program offering syphilis and HIV point of care testing\, COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations at a variety of accommodation providers\, drop-in centres and street-based locations across a two-week period in May 2023. \nVideoconference Information:\nThe session will be provided via videoconference and recorded. DESCRIPTION:Attend this webinar to enhance your ability to support people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to participate in meaningful work that promotes their mental health and wellbeing. \nThe panel will discuss the case study of a person who is experiencing PTSD as the result of a workplace accident.Meet the Panel \nDr. Craig Barnett a GP based in Newcastle and has over 20 years’ experience in both General Practice and Occupational Health with a special interest in injury management\, workplace health including hazardous substances\, psychological injuries & medical computing. \nDr. Tony McHugh is a senior fellow in Melbourne University’s Psychiatry Department. He was for two decades the principal psychologist and manager of Austin Health’s trauma-related mental health (TRMH) services. \nChristie Stonham performs the role of Manager of SHIELD Strategy and Capability for the Australian Federal Police (AFP). In this capacity\, she is responsible for delivering elements of SHIELD\, the AFP’s health service delivery model\, in close partnership with the Chief Medical Officer and Manager SHIELD Service Delivery. \nFacilitator: Professor Stephen Trumble is a general practitioner and Head of Medical Education at Melbourne Medical School. \nLearning Outcomes: \nThrough a panellist exploration of PTSD and work participation\, this webinar will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to: \nIdentify the challenges for PTSD patients engaging with and participating in the workplace\, including phobic avoidance\, anxiety symptoms and co-morbid conditions.\nDiscuss practitioner challenges in helping PTSD patients to leverage the health benefits of good work\, including how to constructively engage with the workplace and other stakeholders.\nDiscuss the risks and opportunities for patients/clients with PTSD participating in work.\nRecommend ways to manage safe and sustainable work participation for patients with PTSD\, including the options and resources available to support work participation
