DESCRIPTION:Course Summary\nNurses and midwives play a crucial role in the prevention of blood borne viruses (BBVs) and sexually transmissible infections (STIs).\nSynopsis\nNurses and midwives can draw on invaluable communication skills and are well placed to identify priority populations for screening. Through a case study\, presentations\, interactive quizzes and online learning module\, this two-part online workshop will provide nurses and midwives with the introductory skills to incorporate STI and BBV screening within their workplace. \nEvent Description\nThis course will be presented in two 1.5 hour Webinars via Zoom. \nPart 1: Tuesday 15 February 2022\, 7:00-8:30pm (AEDT)\nPart 2: Tuesday 22 February 2022\, 7:00-8:30pm (AEDT) \nLearning Outcomes:\nDescribe the clinical presentation of common STIs and BBVs\nIdentify the priority populations for STI and BBV\nExplain the importance of testing and screening for STIs and BBVs\nDemonstrate confidence in offering STI and BBV screening to patients\nDiscuss the process for contact tracing and Identify resources to assist \nTarget Audience\nNurses\, midwives\, and sexual health workers. \nCost: This course is free\nFunding: This course is funded by the Department of Health \nConditions of Registration:\nRegistration Cancellations\nRegistration cancellations and amendments must be notified in writing to ASHM. DESCRIPTION:The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills\, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing\, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies\, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children\, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training. REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop.
