SUMMARY:Leadership Webinar: Collaboration for Impact - conversations about adaptation in these times
DESCRIPTION:May 7th 2020\n12.30pm – 1.30pm (AEST) \nIn conversation with Kerry Graham and Liz Skelton \nSocieties are changing in ways outside of our control\, we have the power to influence these changes by how we respond. \nNo matter how this pandemic plays out\, the world as we know it will be different. This is an extraordinary moment in time and with appropriate containment\, skills and space to reflect\, will determine our capacity to come out of this stronger\, more confident and empowered. This is the time to lean into the losses\, be fully present to the pain and collaborate towards emergent possibilities. \nStrengths and vulnerabilities are emerging day by day.  Old ways of doing things are changing overnight. Where something was once deemed unthinkable\, it is now becoming normal. We are facing major questions\, requiring us to listen\, learn and enquire to create pathways for our emerging future. \nCollaboration for Impact is beginning a series of reflections and conversations about adaptation in these times and what it means for all changemakers working in place\, at scale and those taking up and enabling leadership. \nIn this webinar you will hear from Liz Skelton and Kerry Graham\, co-founders and Directors of Collaboration for Impact (CFI). Working in uncertainty with agility and contributing to creating the conditions for a more equitable and inclusive Australia is the foundation for their practice and leadership. \nIn this webinar they will discuss what it means for them in their roles\, observations on the lessons from the field and they will offer some specific examples of practices to support you in these times as you collaborate for impact. \nLiz and Kerry will scope out some of the questions and themes they are exploring at Collaboration for Impact around tackling complex challenges\, taking up leadership\, how we understand systems\, roles and relationships and ourselves. \nTo build the conversation to meet your needs at this time we are inviting you to submit your questions by May 5th. \nWe also encourage you to read: \n8 Emerging Lessons from Corona virus to Climate Change by Otto Scharmer (18 minute read) \nThis is a free service from Collaboration for Impact. Please feel free to share and invite others in your networks. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Beyond the Crisis: How to prepare your business for the other side - AIM WA
DESCRIPTION:May 12\, 2020\n10:30 AM – 11:30 AM \nThe coronavirus pandemic has caused the global economy to suffer a seismic shock. Federal and State Governments have responded by borrowing unprecedented amounts of money to support businesses and employees. Despite this\, many businesses will close permanently inflicting severe damage to the economy. \n\nFor some businesses\, this current crisis offers an opportunity to reflect on its ‘raison d’ être’ and to find alternative ways to serve new and existing customers. \nDepending on the organisation and industry\, the changes may be small or extensive. For many\, the responses to date – have understandably – been reactionary but as time passes attention is shifting to focus on how businesses can survive – and thrive – in the post crisis economy. \nThis session will provide real examples of the choices and decisions made by a variety of business owners and to use these as learning points for other businesses. \nLearn the proactive steps and strategies businesses are implementing to prepare themselves for life beyond the crisis. The key takeaways from this session will explore ways businesses are: \n\nExploring new ways to serve existing clients and attract new ones;\nStreamlining internal operations;\nImplementing collaboration technologies;\nMaintaining effective collaboration;\nSupporting staff;\nDeepening and extending customer relationships.\n\nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Alcohol and the social determinants of health: an equity lens on interventions
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 14 May\n10:00am-11:00am \nThe Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Knowledge Centre is hosting a webinar on Thursday 14 May 2020 with guest presenter Dr. Jane Fischer from the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA)\, located at Flinders University in South Australia (SA). The webinar will be followed by an open Q & A session. The webinar will run for approximately 40 minutes and is free to attend. \nEven though Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are more likely to abstain from alcohol and less likely to consume alcohol at risky levels than non-Indigenous people\, why is alcohol associated with a disproportionate amount of harm? \nDrawing on work undertaken by the Australian Indigenous AOD Knowledge Centre\, and others; this webinar considers the relationship between alcohol\, inequity\, and the social determinants of health. Subsequently through an equity-lens\, it examines the effectiveness of interventions aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm and how the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander AOD workforce can be supported. \nRegister here.
