However\, risks associated with telehealth have been identified for both the patient and clinician\, and in an urgency/emergency situation\, the ability of the GP to competently navigate the telehealth consultation is vital. \nAn emergency primary care presentation is always challenging\, this is amplified when managing an urgency/emergency consultation via telehealth. The ability of the GP to effectively carry out a phone or video consultation to a high standard is imperative for prompt diagnosis and referral in an emergency situation. \nThis webinar is designed to improve patient outcomes by upskilling GPs in the implementation of telehealth within their Urgent Care Clinics. \nLearning outcomes\n1. Describe the pitfalls of a telehealth consult in relation to a medical emergency\n2. Apply decision making protocols in differentiating an urgency from an emergency\n3. SUMMARY:Obstetric Emergency Training for all Maternity Care Staff
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 28 July 2020\nEsperance Hospital \nPROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) will continue to be delivered to several WACHS sites in 2020. \nPROMPT is an evidence-based\, multi-professional obstetric training package for all clinicians required to respond to obstetric emergencies in maternity hospitals. The program aims to reduce preventable harm for mothers and their babies which is best achieved by training staff in their local\, real-time working clinical environment. The PROMPT training package improves teamwork and consists of interactive lectures\, drills and workshops\, providing hands-on experience of practical skills in simulated obstetric emergency situations. The key components of PROMPT training are that it is multi-professional and locally situated using the whole team in their usual response roles. \nWho should apply?\nAll Maternity Care practitioners working in a maternity hospital – Midwives\, Obstetricians\, GPA’s\, GPO’s and those who are required to respond to maternity emergencies including ward nurses\, after hours managers and theatre staff. \nObstetric Emergency Training is required every 3 years for GPO’s/Obstetricians and Midwives.\nPlease contact your local Maternity Manager / Nurse Manager to register your interest.\n(Non-WACHS staff are welcome to attend if places are available.) \nCost: This training is delivered FREE of charge to WACHS staff and is eligible for earning CPD points. \n

Health services need to be tailored to each community. ‘One size fits all’ solutions are unlikely to be effective. On Tuesday 28 July 2pm (AEST)\, SARRAH will be hosting a free webinar presented by Dr Kristen Glenister. \nData from studies like Crossroads-II can be used to advocate for additional allied health services to meet the needs of rural communities.
