SUMMARY:Rural Emergency Advanced Clinical Training (REACT+)
DESCRIPTION:The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills\, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing\, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies\, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children\, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training. REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop. Participants are provided with audiovisual pre-learning materials and the course consists almost entirely of small group practical skills stations and simulated scenarios. \nEligibility:  All medical practitioners are welcome to register with priority given to currently practicing rural and remote medical practitioners. \nLength: Two days. 8.00am-5.00pm \nCost: $2\,420 (incl GST).\nThe cost of this workshop is subsidised by WA Country Health Service through the Better Medical Care Initiative. \nAccreditation: This workshop has accreditation with The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for continuing professional development points/hours and is approved for the Rural Procedural Grants Program\, Emergency Grant component.  We do ask participants to contact their relevant college to ascertain your eligibility for the grant prior to attending. \nThis education workshop is proudly delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with WA Country Health Service\, through the Better Medical Care Initiative. \nPayment Structure\nYou will receive an email link for payment in an event confirmation email.   Payment is required within 10 days of receiving the email. DESCRIPTION:WA has a rapidly increasing multicultural population\, consisting of a variety of different Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities (CaLD)\, each with their own unique identity and experiences. The unique demographics of CaLD communities in WA add to the complexity of the contributing factors which can increase the risk of injury within multicultural communities. The three leading injury areas affecting people from CaLD communities in WA are drowning\, intentional self-harm\, and violence. With a number of health programs out there already tackling these prevalent issues\, how do we better engage with multicultural communities to address these areas of concern? \nJoin Injury Matters as Deborah Pyatt\, a training consultant with 30 years of experience working with diverse communities\, will be facilitating this interactive and engaging workshop.
