SUMMARY:Goldfields Breakfast Education Series - Diabetes and Its Toll on Health – What to Look For
DESCRIPTION:Diabetes and Its Toll on Health – What to Look For\nDiabetes can lead to serious foot complications\, including nerve damage and poor circulation. Early detection and proactive care are essential to prevent severe outcomes. \nDid you know that an estimated 1.5 million Australians are living with diabetes\, yet up to 50% don’t receive an annual foot screening? \nJoin local Goldfields Podiatrist Lucinda Wilson to learn how to recognize early warning signs and implement effective strategies to protect foot health. \nWhile podiatrists play a vital role in diabetes foot care\, they are not the only health professionals responsible for conducting foot screenings. GPs\, nurses\, diabetes educators; and allied health professionals all have a role to play in early detection and referral. Empowering a wider range of healthcare providers to perform routine screenings helps close the gap in care and improves outcomes for people living with diabetes.\nThis session will also be streamed online for remote participants \nDate: Thursday 29 May 2025\nTime: 7.00am – 8.15am\nLocation: Rural Clinical School \nSpaces are limited\, so register now to secure your spot!
