John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program

Expression of interest to provide primary care rotations for junior doctors from 2024.

These junior doctors intend to have a rural career and will be placed in your organisation for 10 to 11-week terms, with 5 consecutive terms per year.
Funding has been made available to the WA Department of Health from the Commonwealth under the John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program (JFPDP).

This grant covers the 2023 and 2024 training years, and the first half of 2025. I envisage that any new placements will commence in January 2024.

Rotations to your organisation will be managed by the Rural Generalist Pathway WA Coordination Unit, on behalf of the WA Department of Health.
Confirmation of the rotations will be subject to funding and recruitment.
Primary care providers based in a Modified Monash (MM) area 2-7 are eligible to participate.
This includes private general practices, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and other primary care providers.
Expressions of interest should be emailed to RuralGeneralist@health.wa.gov.au by Monday, 27th June 2022.
