SUMMARY:Working with Loss Workshop
DESCRIPTION:One of the most difficult experiences of life occurs when we suffer the pain of loss – loss of a relationship\, loss of health\, loss of employment\, loss of a significant other. Perhaps the most difficult loss of all is death. The sense of loss is a universal human experience. As the losses we experience vary in degree from insignificant to major\, so do their effects on our wellbeing. \nFor caregivers to provide effective and compassionate care to the bereaved\, two conditions must be met: Caregivers must understand their own responses to loss\, and they must have theoretical knowledge about the normal grief process .A thorough understanding of the parameters of normal grief and the individual influences that bear on this process are necessary so that caregivers can recognise and deal effectively with specific loss reactions such as suicide bereavement. \nThis 1-Day Workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to: \n\nExamine personal responses to loss\n• Enhance their understanding of both normal and complicated grief\n• Apply this knowledge to other grief experiences such as suicide bereavement\n• Develop skills and an ability to work effectively with people they care for as they deal with the experience of loss\, through hands on practice\n• Recognise the importance of self-care\n\nPlease Note: If you are currently experiencing the personal pain of a loss\, please understand that this may not be the right time for you to participate in this workshop.\nPlease consider carefully if this is right for you and if you are not sure\, you can discuss it further with Lorna Hirsch on M: 0411 555 422 or E: Lorna.a.hirsch@gmail.com \nESPERANCE Working with Loss Workshop Flyer
