DESCRIPTION:Mon\, 18 May 2020\n02:00 PM – 03:00 PM \nTelehealth Health Professional Upskilling with Diabetes WA. \nPresented by Dr Melanie Burkhart Dr Burkhardt is a Clinical Psychologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital who works in the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes to support people living with diabetes. She is going to discuss how diabetes distress is diagnosed and what impact can that have on a person’s ability to manage their diabetes? What can health practitioners do to support people living with diabetes\, to reduce their risk of diabetes distress. \nDelivered by Diabetes WA through a partnership with the WA Country Health Service\, Diabetes Telehealth builds diabetes management capacity in country WA by providing regular updates for health professionals with patients living with diabetes. The upskilling is delivered via videoconferencing technology (telehealth). Every month different diabetes-related topics are comprehensively covered\, sometimes by staff within Diabetes WA\, and sometimes by guest experts.
