Webinar: Update on the basic science, treatment and clinical trials and lived experience of COVID-19

Please join your host A/Professor Dr Edwina Wright, Infectious Diseases Specialist in the Department of Infectious Diseases, Alfred Hospital and ASHM COVID-19 Taskforce Chair and Professor Damian Purcell, Head of the Molecular Virology Laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Peter Doherty Institute and Dr James McMahon, Head of Clinical Research Unit at the Alfred Hospital, Infectious Diseases Physician at Alfred Health and Monash Health, and Maddy, a person recovered from COVID-19 infection, as they discuss what we currently know about SARs-COV-2 virus; its infection and illness implications and impact on the body’s immune system responds to the virus as well as the experience of infection, treatment and recovery.
We will also hear about clinical treatment trials in Australia for patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 and an update on vaccines development.
