Rural Health West CPD workshop: Toxicological Emergencies (TOX) being held in Perth on Friday 18 November 2022 are now open!
Workshop details:
This Rural Health West CPD workshop, presented by leading specialists in their field, has been designed to offer practising rural medical practitioners an update in toxicological emergencies.
This one-day workshop stream covers general and specific topics related to poisoning and local toxicology, using an interactive tutorial format concentrating on small group discussions of case scenarios.
The workshop content includes:
• Understand the pathophysiology and clinical effects of common envenomation (snake, spider and marine).
• Improve ability to decide on patient disposition and appropriately stabilise patients for transport.
• Improve understanding of the appropriate use of first aid and investigations, and identify and list common poisonings.
• Apply a systematic diagnostic approach in toxicological presentations to increase patient safety.
Eligibility
Open to all Medical Practitioners, GP’s. ED Doctors and Nurse Practitioners.

Registration fee

Accreditation
This workshop has accreditation with The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for continuing professional development points/hours and is approved for the Rural Procedural Grants Program, Emergency Grant component.
We ask participants to contact their relevant college to ascertain their eligibility for the grant prior to attending.
All confirmed participants will receive written confirmation via email of their place in this workshop approximately 4-6 weeks prior to the workshop with information and materials posted once confirmed a place.
