MCDC Outreach Testing Program

The Sexual Health and Blood-borne Virus Program (SHBBVP) is coordinating a series of videoconferences designed to provide current information and updates related to the outbreaks of infectious syphilis in Western Australia.

About this videoconference:
Joanne O’Dea and Dr Ben Scalley will be presenting on MCDC’s outreach testing program in vulnerable populations in metropolitan Perth. With the aim to increase syphilis testing amongst the people experiencing homelessness community, MCDC piloted an outreach program offering syphilis and HIV point of care testing, COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations at a variety of accommodation providers, drop-in centres and street-based locations across a two-week period in May 2023.

The session will be provided via videoconference and recorded. The recording will be made available on the WA Syphilis Outbreak Response website after the event.
