Hep B Hub WA: Rethinking Hepatitis B Care in Regional and Rural Areas | Kalgoorlie
Adam Gregson, an experienced Hepatology Nurse Practitioner based at Royal Perth Hospital, is leading a new community-focussed Hepatitis B program working to empower and support community and primary care clinicians in WA.
The service aims to help clinicians safely manage and care for people living with Hepatitis B within their communities, without the need for referral to a hospital.
The event will outline this new service and seek to explore ways to make this service work best for clinicians in the Goldfields. Adam will also provide a clinical overview of Hepatitis B, its management and address common misconceptions.
The Hep B Hub WA is a state-wide clinical advice service, covering all tertiary catchments, that provides GPs and primary care nurse practitioners with online and in-person support, education, and advice to manage Hepatitis B. This includes diagnostics, therapeutics, referrals, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) surveillance.
