What are the conversations that health professionals can be having with people who have diabetes to help them reduce their risk and to manage their diabetes if they do get COVID-19?
This session will look at the key nutritional strategies identified for women with gestational diabetes. Blood glucose targets, management strategies and treatment options will be discussed, in addition to potential effects of high blood glucose levels on the developing foetus.

For people with diabetes who use insulin, the fear of Hypoglycaemia can influence their decisions around target BGLs and exercise. Managing hypos can reduce both short term and long term effects of diabetes. This session will discuss causes and treatment of hypos, but most importantly, how to prevent it.
All people with diabetes are recommended to have a sick day plan but what are the special considerations for a woman with Gestational Diabetes if she becomes unwell? An individualised sick day plan for a woman with gestational diabetes will help to keep both her and the baby safe and this session will look at what needs to be considered.
This session will look at a range of different medications (oral and injectable) for people living with diabetes, discussing the benefits and potential side effects of each.
This session will explore carbohydrate counting in the context of diabetes management. Useful tools and resources will be covered that can help individuals to better manage their diabetes.
