Nurses and midwives play a crucial role in the prevention of blood-borne viruses (BBVs) and sexually transmissible infections (STIs). They have invaluable communication skills and are well placed to identify priority populations for screening. This session is discusses the role of the health professional in helping women with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who are interested in planning and preparing for pregnancy.
