Dementia impacts close to half a million Australians and almost 1.6 million Australians are involved in their care. The number of people living with dementia is set to double in the next 25 years. With so many people impacted now and into the future, it is vital we clear up some of the prevailing misconceptions about dementia. People living with dementia can live active and fulfilling lives many years after diagnosis. Despite this, they often experience discrimination. John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program Expression of interest to provide primary care rotations for junior doctors from 2024. These junior doctors intend to have a rural career and will be placed in your organisation for 10 to 11-week terms, with 5 consecutive terms per year. Funding has been made available to the WA Department of Health from the Commonwealth under the John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program (JFPDP). Quit Centre is here! Resources for health professionals to help people quit smoking and vaping

Quit Centre is a new evidence-based portal developed by and for health professionals to support their patients’ smoking and vaping cessation. Funded by the Australian Government, Quit Centre will develop and disseminate training and resources which are designed to enable primary health professionals to provide smoking and vaping cessation support as part of their routine care.
